The State of Nebraska is holding public information sessions on the proposed route of the Keystone Pipeline, and during the two held last week, Nebraskans turned out to show their support.
The Keystone Pipeline, if it’s ever approved by the Obama Administration, will go right through Nebraska, and many landowners along the route are eager for the pipeline to be built. The state Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is holding information sessions with landowners and anyone else interested as the beginning of its process to produce a report for the governor on the pipeline’s route.

It’s important that the state hear from those who support this pipeline and the jobs it will bring to Nebraska and the U.S. Without a strong showing of support, the Keystone Pipeline may never be built. Energy Citizens last week attended the meetings across the state.
Nebraska – and the U.S. – Needs the Keystone Pipeline
While President Obama is so far refusing to allow the Keystone Pipeline to be built, this pipeline is essential to our energy security. With its construction, the U.S. will have much greater access to Canadian oil, something that will reduce our imports from other nations.
The construction of this pipeline will also create 20,000 jobs. And, with the construction of this and other pipelines and with the development of oil sands that could occur from it, the U.S. could see 500,000 new jobs by 2035.
