Here in Iowa, we work hard, get our hands dirty, and rise to the challenge.
And these days, with Russia and China flexing their muscles on the world stage, that challenge is national and energy security.
The ethanol industry in Iowa is the perfect example of what we can do when we put American hard work and innovation to the test.
America relies on Iowa farmers to provide the ethanol they need to keep things running. The Hawkeye state proudly produces over 4.1 billion gallons of ethanol each year using more than 1.3 billion bushels of corn.
However, if lawmakers and regulators block carbon pipelines from crossing the state, Iowa could stand to lose as much as 75% of its ethanol production to neighboring states.
We can’t let this happen. We need your help to support CO2 pipeline projects, which could allow us to maintain Iowa’s spot as the nation’s top ethanol producer while hitting emissions goals.
It’s time to put Iowa’s farmers and the economy first.
