A recent study on a federal leasing and development ban found that nearly one million jobs could be lost by 2022, U.S. residential consumers could spend a cumulative $19 billion more on energy by 2030, and the U.S. GDP could decline by a cumulative $700 billion by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.api.org%2Fnews-policy-and-issues%2Fblog%2F2020%2F09%2F09%2Fban-on-new-federal-development-would-risk-us-security-jobs-environment&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7C9c19d07de32d4c1b229f08d876d85a51%7C2df2418fe75f46f0898d65f4eeecb14b%7C0%7C0%7C637390018891549096%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=ZZKmFkbga5395%2FgTm1HR8bqoolcIdkvEB2IhuWyYJo8%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Read more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Carbon-Free Power Sector By 2035<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Biden\u2019s energy plan calls for transitioning the U.S. to 100% clean energy by 2035, just 15 years from now. For comparison, California\u2019s transition to clean energy has been ongoing longer than 15-years, and even with the additional time and smaller scale, the state was recently plagued by blackouts. To give a further sense of how quick Biden\u2019s 15-year timeline is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>It took the Department of Defense 17 years to develop and test just one jetfighter program \u2013 the F-35.<\/li><li>Boston\u2019s \u2018Big Dig\u2019 took 16 years, one year longer than Biden\u2019s plan allots to overhaul the nation\u2019s power supply.<\/li><li>It took the Obama\/Biden administration seven years to decide whether or not to approve a permit on just one energy infrastructure project \u2013 the Keystone pipeline.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fenergycitizens.org%2Fcalifornias-blackouts-spell-trouble-for-bidens-clean-energy-overhaul%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7C9c19d07de32d4c1b229f08d876d85a51%7C2df2418fe75f46f0898d65f4eeecb14b%7C0%7C0%7C637390018891549096%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=jsPtGRM1kVbtsUDjtXfK4DUywm%2Fg0BTffTWT3St8Efk%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Replacing Natural Gas &amp; Oil Jobs With Clean Energy Jobs\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 Biden glosses over the fact that he\u2019s campaigning on eliminating countless natural gas and oil jobs by saying his plan would create millions of new jobs, however, the jobs his energy plan would create are worse than the natural gas &amp; oil jobs it wants to destroy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The North America\u2019s Building Trades Unions\u2014a coalition of 14 unions with 3 million members\u2014released a pair of studies that found both union and non-union\u2019 tradespeople believed natural gas and oil jobs have better wages, benefits and opportunities than renewables projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>WSJ Editorial Board: \u201cThe Bureau of Labor Statistics says the oil and gas industry provides an average annual salary of $108,000, nearly twice the private economy average\u2026 NABTU president Sean McGarvey estimates that many union members would \u2018take a 50% or 75% pay cut.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.api.org%2Fnews-policy-and-issues%2Fblog%2F2020%2F07%2F17%2Fstudy-shows-industry-offers-better-jobs-greater-opportunity&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7C9c19d07de32d4c1b229f08d876d85a51%7C2df2418fe75f46f0898d65f4eeecb14b%7C0%7C0%7C637390018891559090%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=inHXr2iWz7kN9H6Hvjqasco%2BtpJ6ZsNqRtSXEgkAXiI%3D&amp;reserved=0\">Read More<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reducing U.S. Emissions \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Lowering America\u2019s CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0emissions does not mean America has to lower its natural gas and oil production, and U.S. policy should reflect that. The International Energy Agency reported that the U.S.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fthehill.com%2Fpolicy%2Fenergy-environment%2F482601-us-energy-related-carbon-dioxide-emissions-lowered-in-2019-report&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7C9c19d07de32d4c1b229f08d876d85a51%7C2df2418fe75f46f0898d65f4eeecb14b%7C0%7C0%7C637390018891569081%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=yzQpG8lSzUIIYPJS9clkkqMUX4I0ryC6DVp9Q2kUacE%3D&amp;reserved=0\">recorded the largest emissions<\/a>\u00a0decline of any country last year, down 140 million tons (Mt) from the previous year. Although most Americans would never know based on environmental activists\u2019 antagonism towards natural gas, natural gas displacing coal power has actually led to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nam04.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.eia.gov%2Fenvironment%2Femissions%2Fcarbon%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7C%7C9c19d07de32d4c1b229f08d876d85a51%7C2df2418fe75f46f0898d65f4eeecb14b%7C0%7C0%7C637390018891579075%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&amp;sdata=JGMN%2B1zmG3JrkEWo6V8oUmRGLhjLg4bXcEaWm6hIQnA%3D&amp;reserved=0\">a greater reduction in CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0emissions<\/a>\u00a0than non-carbon power sources, like wind and solar, displacing coal power.
