Energy Supporters in Midland Are Changing Everything
Energy supporters brought big energy to West Texas as the American Petroleum Institute (API) hosted its “Celebrating the Real‑Life Landmen and the Power of American Energy” event, turning the venue into a lively place for industry workers, advocates, and community members.
The advocacy group, Energy Citizens, a coalition of everyday Americans who advocate for affordable, reliable energy also had a big presence at the event.

Energy Citizens staff met with workers, capturing stories and signing up new advocates. By the end of the night, 44 new Energy Citizens had signed up to join the cause.
“I know so many people who work in the industry, but they don’t know how to get involved or how to help,” said Cinda, who attended the event.
Erin, a Midland resident and single mother of two, “I was able to put [my] kids through college because of this industry.”
Attendees also lined up for the interactive VR headsets, which took them from the Drake Well in Pennsylvania to an early 20th-century gas station and finally to a modern backyard barbecue — a tour of how American energy evolved.

The event showcased that Midland’s Energy Citizens are fired up and ready to keep taking action to power American energy.
