Support Ohio Energy – Oppose Labor Mandates!
The over 70,000 oil and gas workers in Ohio pride themselves on what they do each day. They work hard, solve problems, and supply our country with the essential and affordable energy we need to function.
But new big government labor mandate legislation could make it harder to get the job done, hurt jobs, jeopardize the competitiveness of one of our state’s most important industries, and threaten access to abundant, affordable Ohio-made energy.
HB 205 has already passed in the House, but we still have time to make our case to the Senate before this bad bill becomes law.
Act Now: Fill out the form below to tell your legislator you stand with Ohio oil and gas workers – not burdensome labor mandates that threaten jobs.
If passed, this bill would force petroleum refineries to hire an increasing number of union-affiliated contractors and subcontractors – 65 percent in 2024 and 80 percent in 2025.
However, what proponents of HB 205 will not tell you is that the bill does not require those jobs to go to Ohioans.
This means that hardworking Ohioans who won’t or don’t pay dues to unions could stand to lose their jobs.
The government needs to get back to work doing their jobs, not telling us how and who can work at ours. Today, they are targeting refinery workers. Tomorrow they could be coming for your job.
Act now – tell your legislator to oppose the labor mandate bill!
