I think that the timing of this bill is an absolute and total disaster, nothing short of disastrous proportions because our economy is so fragile and is just now starting to show some signs of recovery, and if this legislation is passed, its like taking us out at our knees.

Richard from New MexicoI work in the oil and gas industry in South Eastern New Mexico. It has been hard these last few months to stay a float. I do not know what would happen to my job security if this bill passes. If I loose my job, how would I support my family?
Judith from IllinoisWe are a family of 5, last year we had to turn our gas off due to gas bills of $600 to $800 per month, we were fortunate to have a wood burner in our family room which we used all the time, we also had to purchase low energy heaters to help keep our house warm, even so our electric bill was around $300 a month, are we to choose between being able to use electricity or be able to eat this year, our highly paid Senators do not have to worry about this, we the taxpayers do.
Monica from IndianaMy wish is that Congress looks closely at the legislation to ensure that it does truly provide environmental protection, but that it also doesn’t harm our economy needlessly.
Michael from AlaskaThe prospect of our country losing more of our own domestic energy production, sending that overseas, at a time when the public is obviously upset with being dependent on foreign energy sources, it’s kind of a bad idea to increase that problem by basically attacking our on energy production at home.
